We found this awesome little apple orchard in Medina, Ohio where we did our annual apple picking this month. The crisply tart varieties including McIntosh, Franklin, Cortland and Johnathon were ready and waiting. Braxton loved the whole adventure and picked any and all apples he could reach. We acquired quite a bucket-full and I spent time over the week making Applesauce (I skip the honey or any sweeteners because it's delicious enough!) and Pumpkin Apple Muffins (see my real food recipe adjustments below).

Not only did the orchard have tons of apple trees, but also plum trees (with plums the most beautifully vibrant blue-purple hue I've ever seen) and a Seckel pear tree. Have you ever picked pears? We needed this funny long stick with a little cloth bucket attached to reach up and "grab" them, which by the way, these sometimes called "sugar pears" were tiny morsels of delicious! Where are you picking apples this fall and what are you doing with them?
